It gives us great pleasure to be able to say that Misty Whitt is our new RN. Some of our long-time employees may remember Misty. Misty came to work with us 10 years ago. She was an excellent caregiver. She made a big impact the minute she joined us. She quickly rose to a home manager position.
When she told us she was leaving to go back to school and become a registered nurse, I had two thoughts. First, we would absolutely miss her as part of the Asona team. Second, while I appreciated her desire to achieve such a career goal, I doubted she could really accomplish it. It takes at least four years of education to become a registered nurse. It takes so much effort to keep our lives on track once we get busy with families and all the responsibilities of adulthood. It’s very hard to go back to school later in life.
We kept in touch over the years. When we would cross paths in the community. I would ask her how school was going. She would always say it was hard, but she was hanging in there. I didn’t see how she could get through it successfully. She did! On March 6th, Misty passed her test and is now a licensed registered nurse.
