Supporting Brain Health and Community Connection This June

June highlights neurological disease and mental health awareness with local support groups helping families find education, encouragement, and connection.
Supporting brain health and community connections this June.

June is recognized as a month dedicated to raising awareness for neurological diseases and mental health, shining a light on the importance of education, support, and meaningful community connections. At Asona Home Health, we understand that conditions affecting the brain and nervous system impact not only individuals but also the families and caregivers who walk alongside them every day.

One of the most valuable resources available to those navigating these challenges is the opportunity to connect with others who understand the journey. Support groups provide a welcoming environment where participants can share experiences, gain practical information, and find encouragement through community.

This month, McLaren Mount Pleasant is helping bring people together through two important local support opportunities:

Parkinson’s Support Group

Designed to provide educational resources and emotional support for both individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers.

Date: Wednesday, June 24
Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Isabella County Commission on Aging
2200 S. Lincoln Rd.
Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858

Mental Health Support Groups

These sessions offer a safe and supportive space for individuals seeking connection and encouragement while navigating mental health challenges.

Date: Wednesday, June 17
Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Isabella County Commission on Aging
2200 S. Lincoln Rd.

At Asona Home Health, we believe that no one should face neurological conditions or mental health challenges alone. Whether through professional care, family support, or local community resources, building connections can make a meaningful difference in quality of life.

We encourage anyone who may benefit from these programs to consider attending and taking advantage of the valuable support available right here in our community.
